Boston University’s Delta Sigma Pi Gamma has been designated a “Chapter of Excellence” by the organization’s national office.  In achieving this status, it becomes the only chapter in all of New England, and one of only 39 out of 250 across the entire US, to be so honored.

hopeFound Softball Game Print E-mail

Brothers recently went over the the hopeFund, a homeless shelter and treatment center in Jamaica Plain, to play softball with residents. The hopeFound residents practiced for weeks to prepare for the game with the Brothers. Around 20 brothers attended and had a great time, the hopeFound team won the game!

Professional development consultant Brad Karsh came to talk to brothers and the BU community about how to beef up your resume and make your stand out in the competitive job market. Karsh, who has appeared on Dr. Phil, CNN and MSNBC, offered attendees a few tips on how to make their resumes stand out and how to avoid common application mistakes.  Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma Alpha Mu, and the BU Hillel house teamed up to put this stellar event on for the BU community.

Brothers Attend LEAD conference Print E-mail

Last year in February Brothers attended the LEAD conference or the Leadership and Excellence Academy for Deltasigs. Brothers sat in on a variety of seminars to better themselves professionally and fraternally. They also had an opportunity to network with brothers from other chapters, as well as with members of DSP leadership.

Last year we ended the year with some great professional events. Professor and faculty initiate Kabrina Chang spoke with us about her career in law, and how it brought her to Boston University.

Former faculty member and faculty initiate Natasha Saunders held a networking in a professional environment seminar for brothers.

Representatives from American Airlines came to talk about their marketing strategies and received feedback from brothers on their upcoming marketing campaigns in Boston. Brothers received 10% off coupons for anywhere American Airlines flies. 

 

 

 
Brothers are Back on Campus Print E-mail
Brothers are slowly arriving back on campus to start the Fall 2010 semester. Look out for some of our upcoming events: including Splash, B+N Fundraiser, Recruitment tables, and more! For more information on DSP and how to recruit for the Fall 2010 semester stop by and speak with a brother at our recruitment table in the SMG Atrium during normal school hours!
 
Red Cross Blood Drive Print E-mail

On January 19th, 2010 Delta Sigma Pi will be working with the Red Cross to sponsor a Blood Drive in Rich Hall.  Each donor will receive a pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee in appreciation of their contribution. Brothers will help to sign in participants and distribute snacks.

Professional Events
27 brothers, 2 pledges, and 2 guests attended a lecture by guest speaker Martin Kantrowitz, a senior manager at Stryker Orthopaedics. Mr. Kantrowitz discussed his experiences as a project manager and offered
advice on how to be successful at managing tasks and people. He also hosted a question and answer session afterwards.
 
Boston City Councilor Michael Ross Print E-mail
Professional Events
On Monday September 21, 35 brothers and 48 recruits came to see Boston City Council President Michael Ross speak.  Discussion included the economic status of the city and housing issues that are affecting the city and in particular college students.
